****Gather:  Fun, loud, veggie and vegan options, $$$  800 ft SE.  Across the street: **Saturn veggie diner, $.

*****Chez Panisse Cafe':  For some of us, the definition of good food, $$$.  Keep this a secret: You can walk in after 10pm. 0.7 mi N, on the right.

***Trattoria di Corso:  Fine reasonably authentic Italian, $$$.  0.4 mi N, on the left.

**Cafe (Gr)atitude: Vegan. A fun, strange, and easily avoidable Berkeley experience, $$.  0.5 mi N on the left.

****Cha Ya:  Japanese vegan, $$  0.6 mi N, on the left.

**Liaison:  Solid basic French, $$.  0.3 mi N on the right.
