Registration, Accommodation and Travel Information

The 41st Annual Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS 2000), sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Mathematical Foundations of Computing, will be held in Redondo Beach, California, on November 12-14, 2000.

  Registration

The deadline for early registration has been extended to Thursday, October 19.

You can pay by check or money order (in US dollars, drawn on a US bank) payable to `` IEEE FOCS 2000''. To pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover), fill the credit card information on the registration form.

At the conference, the registration desk will be open from 6 pm to 10 pm on Saturday, and during the day on Sunday and Monday.

All conference participants receive a copy of the proceedings. Additional copies of the proceedings can be purchased at the conference, or by sending the order form to the address above. A limited number of copies of FOCS'99 proceedings will also be available for sale.

A block of rooms has been reserved in the hotel at the special rate of $125 per day, single or double. To obtain the room at this price, you need to make a reservation by Thursday, October 19.

If you make the reservation by phone, please specify that you request the special rate for IEEE FOCS 2000.

Cancellation policy: in case you decide to cancel your reservation, you need to call the hotel by 6 pm of the day of arrival.

Room sharing: We will maintain a list of people wishing to share a room at the hotel. If you wish your name to be added to the list, please send email to marek@cs.ucr.edu. If you are on the list and you have already found a roommate, please let us know, so that we can remove your name from the list.

The hotel is located in Redondo Beach, 7 miles south from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Two overhead projectors and a microphone will be available throughout the conference.

If you want to use an LCD projector: To request an LCD projector, send email to marek@cs.ucr.edu. Currently, the following speakers requested an LCD projector: Philip MacKenzie, Hal Gabow, Ileana Streinu, Camil Demetrescu, Erik Demaine, Avi Widgerson, Liadan O'Callaghan. Please make sure that your name is on the list before the conference.

We recommend that, as usual, you bring transparencies for backup.

Specifications of the LCD projectors:

Dry run: you can test your presentation on Sunday between 8pm and 9pm.
